A Fort in the Storm edition by Mike Rossetti Literature Fiction eBooks

Adam Durkin lives a life many other children only dream of, filled with family vacations, days spent exploring his family's 11-acre property in Southern Indiana, and enjoying the comforts every child deserves.
That is until an unimaginable family tragedy sets off a series of events that land Adam's father in jail and Adam in foster care.
There, he meets Micah Sanders, the local newspaper editor and recently sworn Court Appointed Special Advocate. The bond between CASA and his "client" forms quickly as Micah works to find the best possible outcome for Adam.
A Fort in the Storm is a story of loss and redemption, and it celebrates the role of the CASA and the incredible work performed by these "everyday heroes."
A Fort in the Storm edition by Mike Rossetti Literature Fiction eBooks
In this touching and realistic tale, Mike Rossetti portrays the difficulties of an overburdened child services system in the context of a father and son torn apart by grief and tragedy. This is a poignant story of how vulnerable the best of families can be when tragedy strikes. The victim, in this case Adam, tries to come to grips with the why and how things have gone so awry. As is often the case, he blames himself. The journey that Adam must go through is heart-wrenching and the reader will feel his pain as if he were someone we knew. Good writing and dialogue does that.I also enjoyed the legal scenario involving Roger Durkin, Adam's father, that besets him after he finds himself in jail. I won't reveal the reason or the charges against him, but the interplay between the defense lawyer and prosecutor is credible. This is a thought provoking first novel and well worth a read

A Fort in the Storm edition by Mike Rossetti Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
What an amazing book. Touching. Made me consider how precious and fragile life can be. Mike's writing compels the reader to turn the page. There building God's grace to I.
Drawn in within the first few lines; Mike depicts a sad but true story, opening the eyes of the reader to a true call to action. A Fort in the Storm has a resolution to an all to common problem that so many children never see. Read the story and take action, you will be forever happy you did. Looking forward to future work Mike.
Very good book. Great story that held my interest throughout the book. I would recommend to anyone
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It really makes you stop and think about the things that go on behind closed doors. A father's revenge, to me, is totally understandable. I don't know what I would do if someone intentionally hurt someone I love. The writing style of this novel is very easy and comfortable and it makes you want to keep reading. Highly recommended!
I love his writing style! The movement between the different story lines really held my interest. I literally could not put the book down. Although the story is fiction, he did a great job describing very real issues in our society and the important work done by people who are devoted to advocating for our children in need. Great Book!
Here is a story about overcoming tragic events that can too easily happen in life. It could be about someone you know. It is well researched and an easy read. Many will learn about things that happen every day of which most of us are blissfully ignorant.
An outstanding, well-written first novel by a new and exciting young author. Rossetti's character development is a strength. Here he has created characters who are both flawed and realistic, and yet likeable. Roger is a man who we can all identify with; Adam steals your heart; and, Micah is everyone's conscience. Rossetti has successfully tackled a very difficult and heartbreaking subject, and yet, when we finish reading we are strangely uplifted and satisfied.
Here's hoping Rossetti won't make us wait too long for his second effort!
